Hello! My name is Parker and I have worked as one of the massage therapists at “Live Well” for the past two years. I work with clients who come to see me for a variety of conditions. Many of the ailments that I work on relate to musculoskeletal disorders involving the neck, shoulders and lower or upper back.
Typically these problems are the result of prolonged postures i.e. sitting at computer or desk. Regular tension in the shoulders will limit range of motion of the neck and/or rotator cuff which can then develop into a severe pain condition such as frozen shoulder or fibromyalgia.
Through experience I have found that the most effective way to deal with these problems is via acupressure therapy. Acupressure is the easiest, most direct and the fastest way to release the tension. A secondary result is an increase in the amount of blood circulation through the affected area which in turn opens up the pathway for healthful energy flow, and reboots the muscle memory that helps allow muscle relaxation. I do not believe in “No Pain No Gain”, so my massage is not tremendously painful. There may be some discomfort that should feel like a “good pain” as the amount of pressure feels appropriate and does not result in added muscle guarding. Most of my clients have very good results after a few sessions of treatment.
Acupressure is one of the most effective massage modalities and once you experience the treatment you will understand how fast pain relief may come.
